Introducing of Social Welfare Outreach project:
The Social Welfare Outreach Project (SWOP) is a special health care project of World Vision Bangladesh. The project had started in 1985 with a view to provide secondary and Tertiary treatment Services for sponsored, non-sponsored children, their families and the poor and oppressed community members who come from different ADPs/ Projects.
The WV HKK had funded the project since its inception to 2002. The WV HKK has scaled down of its funding by the WV HKK from 2004 and a cost recovery mechanism has been introduced to run the project. As such the major funding is being managed by the WVB since the scaling down of its funding by the WV HKK. 
Purpose:
To maximize God given-potential of those suffering from correctable handicapped and medical problems through integrated approach utilizing existing agencies and services are gets motto is– 
“The man who love people, we love God. 
The man who helps people, he helps God. 
The man who respect people, he respect God?” 
Major Objectives: 
  1. To facilitate secondary and tertiary treatment services for sponsored, non-sponsored children, their families and the poor and oppressed community members who come from different ADPs/ projects. 
  2. To arrange accommodation for the patient and their attendants at the (SWOP) hostel during investigation and treatment of the patients. 
  3. To arrange medicines, appropriate diet/ food for the patients as per the doctor’s advices. 
  4. To arrange hospitalizations for the patients as per the advices of the doctors. 
  5. To conduct Health, Education for the patient and their attendants during their staying at the hostel. 
  6. To organize recreational programs for the patients during their staying at the hostel. 
  7. To maintain follow-up treatment procedures of the patients with a view to complete the courses of the treatment. 
  8. To organize special health camps as and when required at the ADP/ Project levels. 
Major Activities:
  1. Contact Doctors/ Clinics/ Hospitals for facilitating necessary Diagnosis/ investigations and medical treatments and follow-up for referral patients coming from ADPs. 
  2. Arrange short-term accommodation with appropriate diet/food and serve with other necessary services during their stay at (SWOP) Hostel. 
  3. Arrange pathological investigations, medicine support, appropriate diet/ food and other necessary services for the patients who are under treatments in different clinics/ hospitals. 
  4. To conduct special counseling and visit the patients on a regular basis who are under treatment in different hospitals/ clinics. 
  5. Conduct Health Education sessions for the patients and as well as their attendants who are staying at the hostel. 
  6. Arrange recreation programs such as indoor Games, Art, reading books and watching Television for the patients at the hostel. 
  7. Maintain patient’s register and document all necessary papers regarding treatment and diagnosis of each patient. 
  8. Continue and maintain follow-up treatment procedures. 
  9. Send back the patients to respective ADPs with necessary advices/ instructions. 
  10. Arrange regular morning devotions and conduct special prayers for the critically sick patients. 
How SWOP address the objectives/Activities: 
  1. The ADPs / projects forward their patients to SWOP. 
  2. We register the patients other necessary information and case history in our record books/ files. 
  3. Arrange accommodations in the (SWOP) hostel as long as they need to stay for their diagnosis and treatment purposes. 
  4. The concerned child care officers consult or liaise with appropriate physicians/ Hospitals/ Clinics with the patients as and make appointment with them. 
  5. Attend to physicians/ hospital/ clinics with the patients as and when required. 
  6. Arranges all necessary pathological tests/ diagnosis as per the physicians advices. 
  7. Collected all reports and document form the pathological clinics or diagnostic centre. 
  8. Consult with doctors and have necessary treatment schedules and advices from doctors. 
  9. Procure all prescribed medicines and other necessary treatment Aids for the respective patients. 
  10. Brief the patients and their appropriate attendants regarding the medicines and other therapies and cares. 
  11. Maintain follow-up visits schedule or treatments that are suggested by the physicians. 
  12. Take necessary arrangements for admitting the patients to the hospital or clinics or institutions as per advices of the concerned physicians. 
  13. Visit, follow-up, and facilitate all necessary support to the physicians patients are under treatment in different hospital or clinics. 
  14. Arrange all necessary supplies for surgical operation cases. 
  15. Receive all patients after releasing from the hospital or clinics and arrange to send back to the respective
  16. ADPs with necessary medicines and instructions that are usually asked or suggested by the doctors. 
  17. Maintain all necessary papers or files and document for future reference.
